Megan M. Hamm, ED.S, LPC-S, RPT
Throughout life, I have valued the importance of personal interactions with others. I use expressive and creative interventions such as play therapy to work with children, adolescents, and adults. In my years of experience in mental and behavioral health, I acknowledge the importance of family and impact our family has on our upbringing, interactions with others, and how we manage as adults. As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), MS Board Qualified Supervisor, and Registered Play Therapist (RPT) in Mississippi, I focus my practice on the individual as well as the family. I use family therapy interventions to help the family heal from the issues that show up at school, at home, and in the community as behavior problems.
I value myself in being a clinician who is multiculturally competent, trauma and attachment trained, and use unconditional positive regard for others. I pride myself in meeting the needs of the individual by meeting them where they are and helping achieve personal goals. My goal in therapy is not to change people or behaviors. My goal is to hold the space for you, when you need it most, and celebrate you when you choose to make changes in your life.
My work to help the world heal goes beyond the walls of Time For A Change Counseling, LLC and is evident through my work in the community. I am active in my sorority, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, serves as a local and state board member for NAMI MS & NAMI Four Rivers, serves with Dr. A. L. Lott Youth Sports as a board member and coach.
I have many personal goals for myself and goals for my community. I want to be able to erase the stigma surrounding mental health especially in the African American Community while raising awareness that people with mental illness can and do recover.
In my spare time, I enjoy traveling and spending time with my family that includes my husband (Eddie), 2 daughters (Faith and Hope), and nieces and nephews.

Do you experience anger or feel overwhelmed emotionally? Do you feel anxious or depressed? Have you experienced past childhood traumas or abuse or have any current traumas or abuse? Do you long for a place where you can be yourself, show the “real you,” and feel heard and supported? If the answer is ‘yes,’ then I want to help you.
I see individuals (11+) and families. I am a trauma-informed therapist with multiple trauma trainings. I am trained in TBRI, EMDR, and Story-Informed with individuals through the hard things. Also, I am equipped to help individuals process past hurts and strive for a healthier future.
Choosing to enter into counseling can feel scary and make you feel extremely vulnerable. If you are ready to take that first step and begin a new journey, I would be honored to walk along side you. No matter how dire your situation may feel, I can hold hope for you as you begin your journey of healing.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading while sitting outside in the sun and spending time with family and friends.
